"The Psalm says of those who are tempted by thoughts of pleasure, anger, love of praise and the like, that the sun burns them by day and the moon by night (cf. Ps 121:6). Pray, then, to be sheltered by the cool and refreshing cloud of God's grace, so that you may escape the scorching heat of the enemy." --St. John of Karpathos

The sacraments infuse holiness into the terrain of man’s humanity: they penetrate the soul and body, the femininity and masculinity of the personal subject, with the power of holiness. ~Blessed John Paul II

The Eucharist is the heart of the Christian religion. It is an ineffable mystery that embraces the untold depths of divine love, and in which God, giving himself to us, bestows upon us all blessings and graces. ~St. Francis De Sales

The supreme Christian insight is that God is love. The supreme Christian experience, which cannot be separated from authentic insight, is to know this love in your own heart. All this is mere words -- sounding brass and tinkling cymbals -- unless we take practical steps to be open to the reality to which the words point. ~Fr. John Main, o.s.b.

Living out one’s faith is either no way to live or the only way to live; it’s either imprisonment, or the only path to freedom. It offers happiness, or it frustrates the pursuit. There is no half-love, half-religion, half-worship, half-belief, half-truth. There is no kinda-sorta. ~Tarek Saab

Our culture has filled our heads but emptied our hearts, stuffed our wallets but starved our wonder. It has fed our thirst for facts but not for meaning or mystery. It produces "nice" people, not heroes. Beauty, and the love and wonder and fascination it elicits, is an essential human need. It is not an ornament. ~Dr. Peter Kreeft

Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important. ~C.S. Lewis

If you believe what you like in the gospels, and reject what you don’t like, it is not the gospel you believe, but yourself. ~St. Augustine

God created the world as a place of life and love, (Is 45:18) and created every person to be loved, and things to be used. But the devastating reality of sin ruptured this plan, and so persons are abused and material things are more loved. The consequent pain and sorrow, sickness and suffering, have caused much struggle for men and women. However, for the believer in Christ, there is great hope, and to the non-believer there is a great offer: the true Light of the world! This is the light that darkness has not, and will not ever overcome. (Jn 1:5) The Eucharist, Jesus Christ Himself, is that ongoing visible event of life, the ongoing incarnation at the heart of the Church, and we see that the Light has set his tent among us. (Jn 1:14) ~Archbishop Fouad Twal, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem

"Remember that you have only one soul; that you have only one death to die; that you have only one life, which is short and has to be lived by you alone; and there is only one Glory, which is eternal. If you do this, there will be many things about which you care nothing. " ~St. Teresa of Avila
